There's an error in our Practical Vat Handbook! With a red face I must own up that I caused confusion relating to Skills Development Levies (SDL)! So, to set the record straight this is to confirm, once and for all, that SDL was done away with as from 1 March 2005. Now, while you were paying SDL you were entitled to claim the Vat thereon as input tax.
