Dear Subscriber,
|
The TAXtalk magazine has become the official journal of
the South African Institute of Tax Practitioners (SAIT)
|
|
|
|
|
SAIT is devoted to regulating the tax profession in South Africa and see this as a vital part in
increasing the compliance culture of all South Africans. The Institute further promotes an inclusive
environment in the tax fraternity where all stakeholders, including the ICB, CIMA, ACCA, SAIPA, and
any other professional body, as well as SARS, are consulted and included in matters relating to the
tax profession.
SAIT was constituted to serve the interests of the tax profession and society by upholding
professional standards and integrity, and promoting the tax industry and its members in South
Africa.
Secondly, SAIT serves as a 'home' to tax professionals that do not belong to any other professional
body and wish to obtain professional membership status.
Membership to the SAIT provides benefits to its members such as:
|
|
- Professional recognition
- Technical assistance on complex tax issues
- Setting standards for education and training within the tax profession
- Assistance with continuing professional development (CPD)
- Updates on changes in tax legislation
- Representation with SARS on relevant issues
- Building the brand of South African tax professionals, nationally and internationally
- Representation with other relevant stakeholders, e.g. universities, technical colleges, and other
accredited providers of education, training and development within the tax profession
- Networking opportunities with other tax professionals
- Regional forums to meet with fellow members to discuss developments and strategic issues of
concern
With the agreement that has been concluded with SAIT and TAXtalk, the TAXtalk magazine will now be
available, to all SAIT members, free of charge.
